A big thank you to everyone who helped to make the day such a success.
Taking place in Volunteers’ Week, an annual celebration of the fantastic contribution millions of volunteers make across the UK each year, it gave Home-Start Wirral the ideal opportunity to show their appreciation to the many volunteers who give up their time in support of Wirral families each week.
Everyone had a fantastic time, and it was a lovely opportunity to catch up with staff and other volunteers you may not have seen in a while.
We were all treated to a scrumptious buffet, to say nothing of the tempting array of cakes that it was difficult to say no to.
The children were kept occupied with craft activities and other games; the weather was even kind to us, which made a delightful day just perfect.
A new and exciting course being offered by Home-Start Wirral for parents of young children approaching school age.
For more information look under ‘OUR SERVICES’ and “COURSES FOR PARENTS’.
Home-Start Wirral would like to invite all of our volunteers along to celebrate National Volunteer Week on Saturday 3rd June.
As a thank you for all of your hard work we will be holding a celebration event from 12pm-3pm at the Home-Start Hub, Woodchurch Lane, Prenton.
Local DJ and children’s entertainer DJ Milky will be performing at the event, and there will be food, drink, music and entertainment to delight us all.
If you are available to attend please
give the office a ring on 0151 608 8288
We are looking forward to seeing you there!
From the 1st of April we have had cuts to some of our funding streams.
As an organisation we have worked tirelessly throughout the year to secure funding but have been unsuccessful. It has been an extremely difficult and worrying time; we have tried our best to limit the impact this would have on families. Unfortunately the cuts will mean a reduction in the number of ‘Little Bees’ groups we are able to offer. The group supports young children with social and communication difficulties, providing vital early intervention and enables parents to receive respite and peer support.
If you are interested in raising funds for our groups please contact the Hub on 0151 608 8288
Quotes from parents
‘this group is a lifeline to my family and we can’t imagine not coming every week’
‘The support provided by Home-Start Wirral came at a time when I was sinking with the pressure of coping with my son’s behaviour and communication difficulties. I do not know where we would be without the Little bees group. To think future children and parents will be unable to access this support is heartbreaking’
‘I am so thankful for the support Home-Start Wirral have given to my child and family. I am praying funding is secured in the future so that families like mine can get the right support to enable their child to achieve’
‘This group is so important to me, the opportunity to meet other families and speak about my concerns has helped me so much. We will really miss everything about the group’
