Successful Preparation

Posted on December 2, 2018 - News, Volunteering, Volunteers

Congratulations are in order for an enthusiastic group of new volunteers, who have successfully completed the latest ‘Course of Preparation’.

Destined to offer support to families, the breastfeeding project or groups that operate from the Home-Start Hub, volunteers have completed a comprehensive ten week course, giving a fascinating insight into Home-Start Wirral and providing a firm foundation for the challenges that lie ahead.

A new ‘Course of Preparation’ begins on the 14th January 2019. If you, a friend or family member think this could be the volunteering opportunity you have been waiting for, give us a ring on 0151 608 8288 to find out more.

Charity shop benefits from training opportunity

Posted on April 25, 2018 - News, Volunteering

Home-Start Wirral has always recognised the importance of quality training for its staff and volunteers.

Our shop in Claughton Village recently benefited from a training day targeted at increasing trading income.

Staff and volunteers joined forces, and enthusiastically took on board many tips and ideas to improve the presentation of the shop and make it more appealing to customers, as well as exciting ideas to increase our sales.

Regular training opportunities not only benefit Home-Start Wirral, but demonstrate our commitment to staff and volunteers, allowing everyone to learn new skills in retail.

Why not become our next volunteer! Benefit your local community, get to work in a lovely atmosphere and meet some fabulous people.

For more information give Mandy or Sue a ring on 0151 652 0020 or just pop into the shop, you will be made very welcome.
