Becoming a parent can be an extremely rewarding and fulfilling experience. However, when all your friends and family have gone home to carry on with their own lives, the stress and daily pressures of being a new Mum or Dad can be a lot to cope with.
The responsibility of caring for another human being twenty four hours a day can be overwhelming. However much you love your new baby, it can be very easy for a new parent to find themselves isolated at home, with no adults to talk to.
Feeling shattered and drained, while agonising over giving your baby the best care, can be overpowering.
‘Positive Minds’ is a six week course aimed at Mums and Dads suffering from Postnatal Depression, where parents are welcome to bring along any children under twelve months old.
Enjoy a relaxed and laid back atmosphere, where new parents can talk openly and confidentially about their worries and stresses. Support from someone who understands what you are going through, can build your confidence, increase your knowledge, and allow you to build new coping strategies.
