Every Mum and Dad knows that being a parent is not always plain sailing. The rewards are massive, but the journey is not always without heartache.
When that journey involves a child with complex needs, especially when you have other children to consider, the affect on the rest of the family can be significant, despite everyone’s best efforts.
Our ‘Short Break Club’ could be that missing piece of the jigsaw puzzle that makes a real difference to your family.
For the child with additional needs, it could give them an opportunity to improve their social and communication skills, to engage with their peers, but most of all to have fun in a positive and secure environment.
Siblings are very welcome to stay and join in the fun, or take up the opportunity to spend some quality time with their parent or carer.
Being a full time carer to a child with complex needs can be emotionally and physically draining, our ‘Short Break Club’ could be an opportunity for you to have a break each week, to feel less isolated and better able to cope, knowing there is someone to give a little advice and support when you need it most.

The club is for children up to 7 years old, costs £3 per session (payable in advance) and operates from the Home-Start Hub on Saturdays and school holidays.
Places must be pre-booked, availability is dependent on care requirements and the operation of a fair access scheme is operated when sessions are in demand.
